Andrea Pierce, a Buffalo native and Licensed Mental Health Counselor specializing in child and adolescent therapy, has created a practice to give children, adolescents, and parents a safe space to work through various mental health matters and familial issues. Andrea graduated from Medaille University with a Bachelor's in Criminal Justice and a Master's in Mental Health Counseling.

My goal is to be a physical representation for families who have rarely experienced advocacy and comfort through the process of mental health therapy.

Andrea has had the opportunity to work with children and families that include homeless/at risk youth and youth that were placed in foster care. Andrea has also provided counseling services at an outpatient facility for ages 3-21 years of age with also the experience as a clinical supervisor at a residential facility for youth. Her natural leadership and passion for working with children and families led her to join the faculty at a local University as an adjunct professor, providing supervision to upcoming Mental Health Clinicians.

 

With her background and experience working with children and families, Andrea is well versed in multiple therapeutic approaches, including EMDR therapy, play therapy and DBT (Dialectical Behavior Therapy). Along with her on-the-job expertise, Andrea was trained in restorative justice circles and has also contributed to many initiatives to promote diversity, equity and inclusion within different  organizations.
